Lester M. Murray Jr., Shady Shores, Texas

Lester “Muleskinner” Murray Jr., 77, of Shady Shores, Texas, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas.


He was born April 7, 1931 in La Monte, a son of Lester and Goldie Carver Murray. On March 19, 1982, in Denton, Colo., he was married to Mary Madeline Pitcock, who survives of the home.


He was an Army veteran and a member of AARP. He worked for the city of Denton, before he retired.


Also surviving are three daughters, Marsha Howard, of Krum, Texas, Barbara Canteabury, of Beckley, W.Va., and Angie Blankenship, of Argyle, Texas; three sons, Ronnie Gene Murray, Randy Murray, of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., and Mark Murray, of Argyle; three stepchildren, Mary Walker, of Aubrey, Carolyn Brown, of Fort Worth, and Charles Grimes of Shady Shores; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.


Graveside service were Friday at Corinth Shiloh Cemetery in Corinth, Texas, with the Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home in Denton.
