Two Morgan County residents are free on bond after their arrests on drug charges dating to last summer.

Morgan County Sheriff’s and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force officials last week arrested Dennis Scott, 46, and Mary Jo Scott, 50, at their home at 30373 Blossom Drive in Rocky Mount.

The two each were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

The arrests stem from a joint investigation June 5, 2007, at the Scotts’ home. Police removed a pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from their home, according to a news release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.

Dennis and Mary Jo Scott were free on a $30,000 surety bond each.

Both were due back in Morgan County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. Sept. 5, according to court records.
