“I was wondering if Sedalia’s courthouse has a revolving door. It seems like its the same people over and over again — DWIs and drug charges. When is it going to stop? When are they going to enforce the law?”

“Why hasn’t at least one pharmacy in all of Sedalia offered some kind of a break for prescriptions for people on the Medicare prescription plan who are in the ‘donut hole’? It would be so appreciated.”

“This is not the city of Sedalia anymore, it’s the city of slums.”

“On dark and cloudy days, I would like to see more van and pickup drivers turn on their headlights.”

“If (Montserrat Wineries) would do a grape stomp, it might bring in more participants to their GrapeGrass celebration.”

“I am completely and utterly dismayed. I cannot imagine with all the crime, gangs and vandalism in Sedalia that the police department has nothing better to do than go around checking garage sales for permits. Unbelievable.”

“On Monday’s Opinion page, Leonard Pitts states ‘Beck and Co. should tell the truth’ and even quotes the Bible, ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness.’ I think Pitts needs to worry more about Obama telling the truth than he does Glenn Beck.”

“Kudos to Mark Hewitt and the Sedalia Parks Department for the fantastic Christian rock music concert in Liberty Park. What a turnout! The public loved and appreciated an inexpensive night out in our town.”

“MoDOT wants a roundabout (at Winchester Road and Highway Y) and is using the excuse that if signals were installed, then both roadways would have to be widened and turn lanes would have to be added. It seems that the existing lanes carry the traffic; the only thing is something has to direct traffic, and that would be electric signals.”

“I enjoy Richard Parkhurst’s commentaries. I’m an older lady who has never been up in a plane.”

“It took the Tour of Missouri to get a few of our road rights of way mowed, and I wonder what it would take in Pettis County to get the gravel roads graded.”

“Who OK’d using the $500,000 that was to be used for the community center on beautifying City Hall? That money should be left alone, for a future community center.”

“The editorial in Wednesday’s paper (’Book bans stand in the way of freedom’) about banned books was excellently written. I’d especially like to point out the last paragraph which I think was really great.”

“What is the status of the recycling center once the current people leave? We’d very much like to see it continue.”

“My sister-in-law told me she saw two men taking food from the Dumpster at a local grocery store. If they should read this, please know that you could become very sick or die from tainted food. Go to the Salvation Army, or the food pantry or Open Door, please.”

“My son is a student (at Smith-Cotton High School) and plays soccer, and I think it is pathetic that throughout all the homecoming festivities no one has mentioned that boys soccer is involved.”

“Thursday afternoon I did my weekly grocery shopping at Bing’s East. A very nice lady helped me put my groceries in my car then she put my cart away. There are still some very nice people around.”

“I’d like to suggest they put something on television besides cartoons and sports.”
