Seventh and eighth-grade students from Sacred Heart School participated in the annual Diocesan Sketch Day held at Arrow Rock on April 25. Eight diocesan schools from the area attended the event.

First place winners were Sierra Fredrick, mixed media; Aaron Church, pencil; second place winners: Marco Alonso, pastel, Allie Martin, acrylic paint; Reid Swearingen, charcoal; and Corrine Yap, pencil. Those receiving third place ribbons were: Sydni Herrick, colored pencil; Lauren Azan, oil pastel; Kaitlin Sunnarborg, pastel. Brian Gunter received honorable mention for pencil.

Aaron Church, a student of Mary Kehl at Sacred Heart Catholic School, drew a sketch of the 1870 Sites House. It was selected by the Friends of Arrow Rock for a flier that will be distributed to approximately 1,000 school children who participate in spring field trips.
