Thefts

•Desiree Contreras, of 815 E. 19th St., reported about 6 a.m. Friday the theft of a wallet, a telephone and store gift cards from her car, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Robert Franken, 722 E. Ninth St., reported at 9:40 a.m. Saturday the theft of eight to 10 fishing poles, valued at $600, from his garage, according to Sedalia police reports.

Burglary

Violet B. Johnson, of 717 E. Fifth St., reported about 12:15 p.m. Friday a burglary at her home in which several unspecified items were stolen, according to a Sedalia police report.

Arrests

•Matthew D. Arias, 23, of 4741 S. U.S.. 65, was arrested about 4:35 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving without a license and driving without insurance. His license plates were seized under a police order issued in a criminal case, according to Sedalia police reports.

•Anthony Hill, 26, of the 600 block of East 11th Street, was stopped about 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard and charged with driving while license revoked, according to Sedalia police reports.

•Miguel E. Ramirez, 21, of the 400 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested about 12:45 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop and charged with identity theft, driving while license revoked and making an improper turn, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Vandalism

Shirley Appleman of 511 E. Third St., told Sedalia police officers about 9:40 a.m. Saturday that a taillight on her car had been shot out with a yellow paintball. Damage was estimated at $300. The police also received several other reports Saturday of cars hit with yellow paintballs but no damage resulted..

Assault

Brian W. Pettis, 24, of 2014 E.. Broadway Blvd., reported to the Sedalia Police Department about 1:30 p.m. Saturday that he had been assaulted by two people and suffered a serious eye injury.

Truck theft

A Ford F-250 truck and an 18-foot trailer loaded with two lawnmowers were stolen from the Comfort Inn lot, 3600 W. Broadway Blvd., Friday night. Jack J. Herr, of Gardner, Kan., who reported theft to the Sedalia Police Department about 6:30 a.m. Friday, said the truck, owned by Simplicity Manufacturing, of Milwaukee, Wis., was locked.
