Aug. 31 Police Reports

Michael J. Rudroff, 19, of the 1300 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested on a city charge of stealing, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. He was booked and released at Pettis County Jail.

Property Damage
•Jason L. Davidson, 1306 E. Broadway Blvd., reported Saturday that the garage door had been kicked in, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.
•Steven D. Cross, 822 Brentwood Ave., reported Saturday the rear window of his vehicle was broken, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.
•Don L. Higginbotham, 514 W. Fourth St., reported Saturday the rear passenger side window of his vehicle was broken overnight, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.
•Jim D. Randall, 1316 E. Seventh St., reported Saturday his vehicle’s windshield had been damaged by a BB or pellet gun, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Theft
Taylor B. Williams, 2211 W. Second St., reported Saturday the driver’s side window of his vehicle was broken and 30 compact dics and the face plate to the stereo were stolen, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Burglary
Matt A. Sims, 116 E. Morgan St., reported Friday that two tool boxes containing screwdrivers, a hammer, a stud finder, wrenches, and a fluke meter were stolen from 313 N. Osage Ave., according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Harassment
Rickey L. Adair, 1101 S. Moniteau Ave., reported Saturday he received threatening messages, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Smoking paraphernalia
What is your opinion on the law prohibiting the sale of drug paraphernalia, including small water pipes or glass pipes?
Because the majority of these items are sold for smoking illegal substances, the law should ban them all.
The law that prohibits the sale of these items if the seller knows they will be used for drugs is too vague and should be repealed.
People should be able to buy whatever smoking paraphernalia they wish.
Police officers should find a better way to spend their time than arresting people for violating these types of laws.
The law is the law, and as long as it’s on the books, police officers should enforce it.
