Sept. 3 Police Reports

•Casey L. Allred, 19, of the 2500 block of Wing Avenue, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Monday at Winchester Drive and Main Street on a charge of driving with a suspended license, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•David Jakie Wayne Peak, 23, of the 500 block of Wilkerson Drive, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of East Fifth Street on charges of driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Thefts
•Rebecca Cockrell, of 512 E. 12th St., reported Tuesday a wheel and tire were stolen from her backyard, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Gary Petree, of 112 Chestnut St., reported Tuesday two Dodge aluminum alloy wheels with tires were stolen from outside his home, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. He said he discovered the theft Saturday, and valued the wheels at $120.

•Bob Ross, of Sedalia, reported his son’s central air unit was stolen from 414 S. Engineer Ave. between Saturday and Tuesday, according to Sedalia Police Department reports. Ray Ross is the owner of the air conditioner.

•Diana Alcantara, of 916 S. Stewart Ave., reported Tuesday overnight four hubcaps were stolen from her car while it was parked on the street in front of her home, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•David Turpin, of 3000 Clarendon Road, reported Tuesday a gas can full of gasoline was stolen from the back of a truck parked in the driveway, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Susan Belisle, of 701 S. Lafayette Ave., reported Tuesday between 6 and 9:30 a.m. Monday $650 cash was stolen from the inside of a sock she was wearing while she slept, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Burglary
•Angela Schultz, of 615 E. 10th St., reported Tuesday her home was burglarized and a black Polaroid 37-inch flat screen television was stolen,  according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Becky Evans, of 1016 E. Seventh St., reported Tuesday her storage shed was broken into and her push mower and weedeater were stolen, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Doris Webb, of 1402 Liberty Park Blvd., reported Tuesday on Monday items were stolen from her table while she was in another room of her apartment, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Michael Davidson, of 213 S. Grand Ave., reported Tuesday a Dell computer, several clothes, $390 cash, a driver’s license, birth certificate, social security car and several payroll stubs, all valued at $2,500, were stolen from his home, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Property Damage
•Timothy Law, of 1515 W. Ninth St., reported Tuesday his vehicle back window was broken while it was parked in his driveway, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•Asenagh Crabtree, of Sedalia, reported Tuesday an unoccupied apartment at her rental property at 615 W. Second St. was used for a party and holes were found in the living room wall and kitchen wall, and the mirror and door in the bathroom were broken, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

•An employee of Skin Thieves, 600 S. Osage Ave., reported Tuesday a sign in the parking lot was turned over and damaged for the second time in less than a week, according to Sedalia Police Department reports.

Smoking paraphernalia
What is your opinion on the law prohibiting the sale of drug paraphernalia, including small water pipes or glass pipes?
Because the majority of these items are sold for smoking illegal substances, the law should ban them all.
The law that prohibits the sale of these items if the seller knows they will be used for drugs is too vague and should be repealed.
People should be able to buy whatever smoking paraphernalia they wish.
Police officers should find a better way to spend their time than arresting people for violating these types of laws.
The law is the law, and as long as it’s on the books, police officers should enforce it.
