Girl donates poster to veteran

Jessica Miriam Link, of Gatesburg, Ill., recently presented a framed poster to Ralph McClain to hang in his room at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
Jessica, 11, designed and painted the poster and entered it in a contest.
She received her inspiration from her grandfather, Stuart L. Pace, who lived at the Missouri Veterans Home from April 19, 2006, until his death on March 19, 2009.
Even though it didn’t win first place, her grandmother, Mary Boatright-Pace, thought it should have.
Jessica wanted to donate the poster to a veteran, so she decided to give it to McClain.
