'Hello Dolly!' comes to the Lyceum
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ARROW ROCK — The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre continues its 49th season with Jerry Herman’s musical “Hello, Dolly!,” running tonight through July 18.
The musical is based on Thornton Wilders’ play “The Matchmaker.”
Jo Ann Cunningham will play the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi. Cunningham has performed in the Broadway production of “Anna Karenina,” and “The King and I,” opposite of Yul Brynner. Her off-Broadway credits include “The Show Must Go On,” with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt and “The Swan Song and Ladies of the Corridor.”
Ron Wisniski will play the role of Horace Vandergelder. Wisniski’s touring credits include “Beauty and the Beast,” and playing Franklin D. Roosevelt in “Annie” and “Tintypes.” His other credits number more than 100 plays and musicals in theaters nationwide.
Also appearing on the Lyceum stage for the first time is Matt Gibson. He was recently seen on Broadway in the Tony Award winning production of “Gypsy,” starring Patti LuPone. Along with his Broadway credentials Matt has been seen regionally in “Miss Saigon,” “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular” and “West Side Story.”
Matinee performances will begin at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Sunday and July 15, 16 and 18. Evening performances will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and July 17 and 18.
