Palmer celebrates 85th birthday

Charles J. Palmer, of Sedalia, will celebrate his 85th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at East Sedalia Baptist Church.
Please use the west entrance of the new building.

He was born Aug. 4, 1923, a son of C.H. “Slim” and Opal F. Palmer. On Dec. 17, 1942, he was married to Letha V. Witt, who died earlier. He later married Edna F. Barnes.

He started Palmer Tool Supply in 1951. He served in the 718th Amphibian Tractor Battalion during World War II.

He has four children, Charles Jerry Palmer, Cheryl Campbell, of Springfield, Lanny R. Palmer and David L. Palmer, of Sedalia; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to the celebration. He requests no gifts.
