July 18 Sedline
Comments 0 | Recommend 0 I read in the Sedline Sunday a guy thought it was funny about the man complaining as he put gas in his Humvee with the Bush-Cheney sticker. Actually wasn’t Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Congress supposed to take care of all the gas prices? When they took over in January of 2007, gas was $2.18, national average. Now it’s $4.10. Makes me want to give Nancy a big old hug.
My Newsweek date June 30, on page 36, reports to the American public: ‘In the last five years, the United States has spent close to $1 trillion on the invasion and occupation of Iraq. That’s enough money to rebuild every bridge, school and road in America, create universal health care and fund several Manhattan Projects in renewable energy. Whatever benefits the invasion of Iraq might produce, it cannot justify these expenditures in lives and treasure.”
Who is responsible for the railroad crossing on west Highway 50 out by the Pepsi plant and why doesn’t somebody fix it?
Since property value has decreased so dramatically so rapidly, I would like to know when there will be a reassessment of the property in our area. I plan to call the assessor’s office for an answer and encourage everyone else to do the same.
Editor’s note: Residential real estate is reassessed every two years. The next reassessment comes in 2009.
Jesse Jackson just needs to go away. It appears he is doing all he can to see that Sen. Obama is not elected president. Why is that? Because if a black man is elected, Jesse and his sidekick, Al Sharpton, won’t be able to place the race card anymore, won’t be able to shake down anyone for cash anymore. They’ll actually have to get a real job. Jesse and Al are the two most racist and bigoted, pompous, arrogant jerks on earth. Go away, Jesse, and take Al with you. Just go away. These two have stirred up enough crap in this world. Just go away.
A person called about the street lights that are burned out or broken. They can be fixed. Each pole has a number on it. Just call your local electric company, toll free, and give them the tag number and location of the light. They’ll usually fix in 24 hours. I try not to pick a day if its icy or raining. The police department driving around at night could do this for the public safety.
When you mail a letter use only three lines — one for the name, one for the address and one for the city, state and ZIP. It may move a day faster if done right.
I wonder if we could have a color street sign put up at the corner of 16th and Winchester. Also, could we have the potholes on that corner repaired.
