Judge Robert L. Koffman heard these cases in Pettis County Circuit Court Sept. 2:
•Jamauhle Brown, 27, of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. He was arrested May 12 when Sedalia Police Officer Casey DeVorss stopped him for running a stop sign at 16th Street and Ohio Avenue and found a loaded handgun in the console of the vehicle. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

•Chad Hicks, 35, of Knob Noster, was ordered to serve a seven-year sentence when his probation was revoked on a charge of violating an order of protection. He pleaded guilty to the offense Jan. 7 and was placed on probation. He violated the terms of his probation by trying to assault Michael Pummill with a length of pipe on July 7 and by having contact with his estranged wife on that date.

•Joseph Johnson, 29, of La Monte, was sentenced to four consecutive 90-day jail sentences, for a total sentence of 360 days, for three driving with a revoked license and one resisting arrest charge. He was arrested March 18 by Deputy John Hammond, April 22 by Trooper Mark DeGraffenreid and April 26 by Sedalia Police Officers Daniel Keltner and Cameron Egan. Johnson resisted arrest April 26 when he fled from officers on a motorcycle. The driving with revoked license charges were felonies because Johnson has at least four prior convictions for various offenses.

•Wayne Meltzer, 42, of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one felony driving with a revoked license charge. Meltzer was arrested and charged July 2008 when Sedalia Police Detective Cameron Egan and members of the Missouri Highway Patrol's SWAT team served a search warrant at his home at 527 E. Fifth Street. Officers found a little more than a gram of methamphetamine and several hydrocodone pills in Meltzer’s possession. Sedalia Police Officer Daniel Benner arrested the defendant for driving with a revoked license March 1. The offense was a felony because Meltzer had a prior DWI and driving with revoked license convictions. He was sentenced to seven years in prison on the drug charges and one year in jail on the driving while revoked charge.

•Khristy Miller, 36, of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to two counts of passing bad checks on a non-existent account, admitting that in May of 2007 she wrote checks on a closed account at two Sedalia businesses. Execution of a four-year sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for five years with a condition that she pay restitution on these and other bad checks.

•Isaac Fidencio Sanchez, 21, address unknown, pleaded guilty to attempted stealing. He was arrested July 25, 2007 by Sedalia Police Officer Mike Layton, who caught the defendant at a used car lot in the middle of the night with a jack and four cinder blocks in his vehicle and lug nuts from a nearby vehicle in his pocket.  The judge ordered a sentencing assessment report; sentencing was set for Oct. 20.

•Scott Siron, 29, of Sedalia, was ordered to serve a four-year prison sentence when his probation was revoked. He was placed on probation in 2007 for criminal non-support of a minor child. His probation was revoked because he failed to pay child support as required and he possessed marijuana.

•Roy Sisemore,  27, of Sedalia, pleaded guilty to several offenses in connection with two arrests in January.  In pleading guilty, he admitted that on Jan. 7 he entered a restricted area of Orscheln’s in Sedalia to steal, used a woman’s debit card without permission and stole more than $500 worth of merchandise using the card. Then, on Jan. 13, he attempted to steal a Mitsubishi Eclipse from a trailer on West 10th Street.  He was sentenced to six years in prison.

•Jimmy Torres, 48, of Sedalia, was placed on probation for five years on two counts of driving with a revoked license. He was arrested by Pettis County Sheriff's Deputy Jim Stetzenbach on February 13 and by Sedalia Police Officer Daniel Benner on March 6. The offenses were felonies because Torres had four prior convictions. Torres was ordered to serve 180 days in jail as shock detention.
