Peter L. Trigg, 1932-2007, Concordia

Peter “Pete” L. Trigg, 75, of Concordia, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

He was born Jan. 31, 1932, in Higginsville, a son of Stephen William and Mary Vermillion Trigg. On Feb. 26, 1953, he was married to Juanita J. Bockelman, who survives of the home.

He had lived in the Lafayette County area most of his life. He was a 1950 graduate of Higginsville High School. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad, which later became Union Pacific Railroad, for 25 years. He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Wasp during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5649 in Concordia.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Marie Trigg, and her husband, Phillip Means, of Eugene, Ore., and Veronica Ann Freeman, and her husband, David, of Cutler, Ohio; five brothers, Kenneth Trigg, of Lee’s Summit, Bill Trigg, of Higginsville, George Trigg, of Waverly, Jim Trigg, of Independence, and Dale Trigg, of Kansas City; two sisters, Janice Trigg, of Kansas City, and Judy Pool, of Deltona, Fla.; and three grandsons, Gage Michael Freeman, Jacob Samuel Freeman and Ian Alexander Means.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Hammontree; a brother, Stephen William Trigg Jr.; and three sisters, Martha Foulds, Mary Seaman and Grace Stuedle.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with the Rev. Andrew Kennell officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with military rites at graveside. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
