In regards to the upcoming elections, may we all say, as in “The Lord’s Prayer,” thy will be done, not mine. As for a need for change, how about a change in each one of our hearts? May we humbly put God, our creator, first. Repent of our sins, America — sexual sins, worshipping of authority figures or any human being, worshipping money, TV, cell phones, iPods, you name it. ... He alone, our creator, has all the answers for each one of us and our country. May we worship him and not his creation any more.

Bill O’Reilly just stated on “The ‘O’Reilly Factor” show, and I quote, that we should tax the big oil companies and take that money and distribute it to the American people, the public. He just said that, which is just what Obama said about the taxes in general.

I’m glad the campaign is coming to an end. I’m really kind of sick of the campaign commercials. I’ll be glad to see them off the air. I’d really like to see the erectile dysfunction medication ads go off the air, as well. Nobody wants to hear about that.

Do you or a family member have a fragrance allergy? Are you aware that some of Sedalia’s nursing homes use nothing but scented products — lotions, deodorants, shampoo, laundry products? And some of the people who work in these places think it’s funny when others hurt and complain about discomfort from this problem. As a resident or caregiver you pay for these fragrances whether you want them or not or they make you sick or not. It’s time to speak up for the people’s right to breathe and avoid rashes.

Why is it when you ask a person for their name, they just give their first name? It’s like they’re trying to hide something. This is sort of like politics.

Smoking paraphernalia
What is your opinion on the law prohibiting the sale of drug paraphernalia, including small water pipes or glass pipes?
Because the majority of these items are sold for smoking illegal substances, the law should ban them all.
The law that prohibits the sale of these items if the seller knows they will be used for drugs is too vague and should be repealed.
People should be able to buy whatever smoking paraphernalia they wish.
Police officers should find a better way to spend their time than arresting people for violating these types of laws.
The law is the law, and as long as it’s on the books, police officers should enforce it.
