A 9-year-old boy was injured Friday in an all-terrain vehicle crash in Benton County.

Dalton Ames, of Edwards, was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. He was later discharged from the hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

The crash happened when Ames, who was driving the all-terrain vehicle, tried to pass another vehicle while northbound on Skyview Drive. Ames sideswiped the vehicle and was thrown from his vehicle.
