Gladys P. Dallman, Warrensburg

Gladys Pearl Dallman, 95, of Warrensburg, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Country Club Care Center.


She was born May 30, 1912, in Johnson County, a daughter of James B. and Etta Mae Leary McMurphy. On March 4, 1931, in Jackson County, she was married to Oscar B. Dallman, who died June 26, 1984.


She was raised in the Warrensburg area. She helped her husband farm and was a homemaker. She was a member of Jacoby Chapel Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, crocheting and working crossword puzzles.


Surviving are two daughters, Doris Bayless, and her husband, Melvin, of Gravois Mills, and Judy Harms, and her husband, Milburn, of Cole Camp; five grandchildren, Kay Helland, Cindy Schnurbusch, of Lee’s Summit, Dale Harms, Mac Harms, of Cole Camp, and Paula Harms, of Phoenix; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.


She was predeceased by three brothers, Claude, Ray and Byron McMurphy; and a sister, Marian Bratten.


Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with the Rev. Linda Lyman officiating. Pallbearers are Jay Helland, Kirk Schnurbusch, Dale Harms, Mac Harms, Byron McMurphy and Phillip McMurphy. Burial will be in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.


The family suggests memorial contributions to Jacoby Chapel Presbyterian Church or Johnson County Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
