William A. Bain, Sunrise Beach

William “Bill” A. Bain, 79, of Sunrise Beach, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.

He was born October 18, 1928 in Leola, S.D., a son of George and Blanche Rudd Bain. On August 20, 1963, in Brookings, S.D., he was married to Mary Ann Kriech.

Bill enjoyed fishing, joking, entertaining, and dancing, but above all, loved his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Bain, of the home; two sons, Roger Bain and his wife Meg, of Nashville, Tenn., Dale Bain, and his wife Sherry, of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Cindy Geivett, and her husband Larry, of Raymore, Kristi Whitrock, and her husband Skip, of Flower Mound, Texas; one stepson, Paul Richardt, of Watertown, S.D.; one stepdaughter, Kim Richardt, of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Virginia Knudson, of Lake Benton, Minn., Helen Andersen, of Brooking, S.D.; and eleven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Betty Bain; two brothers, Freeman and Charles Bain; one sister, Edna Messner; and three half brothers, Francis, Fritz, and Lloyd Bain.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie. Honorary pallbearers are Roger, Dale, Ryan, and Royce Bain Skip and Aaron Whitrock Larry and Alex Geivett and Paul Richardt.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.kidwellgarber.com.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the William Bain Memorial Fund.
