Ruby H. Arnhold, Windsor

Ruby Hix Arnhold, 85, of Windsor, died Saturday Nov. 17, 2007, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Windsor.

She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Climax Springs, a daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Gracie Thelma Wingard Hix. On Dec. 10, 1946, in Windsor, she married Harold Rolla Arnhold, who died on Nov. 23, 1993.

She worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory for several years and also owned and operated A Stitch In Time, where she did alterations and sewed for countless people in the Windsor area until her health failed in February 2007. She was a member of the Windsor area TOPS and KOPS clubs and the First Baptist Church in Windsor.

Surviving are a son, Lee Holst, of Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Charlotte Gray, of Kansas City, and Joyce Cochran, of East Lynn; a brother, James Hix, of Windsor; four sisters, Rena Lutjen, of Stover, Ruth Williams and Rosalie Henderson, both of Kaiser, and Rita Burns, of Cole Camp.; five granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Ralph Hix.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday , at Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, with the Rev. Doug Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.hadley-funeralhome.com.
