Visitors, shoppers would help pay for ambulance service
To the people and voters of Sedalia:
I have worked in the emergency medical field for 16 years. I worked in your beautiful city for five years and love your town and people. You have the opportunity to improve the care provided to yourselves, your family and friends by contributing to the “Say Yes To EMS” campaign and in supporting the upcoming vote for a tax-based ambulance.
You have a wonderful town, with your community growing and working on improving on a regular basis. The sky is the limit — but one area sadly lacking and behind in the times is the current ambulance service. Private businesses have limited income, and so this limits what they can provide — not to mention other aspects that need serious improvements.
Please don’t wait until you, your family or friends need an ambulance to realize your town needs to move and grow forward in this field as well. People working on this tax levy have even worked hard enough to help your community by making this a sales tax levy. That means as citizens in the community, you are not the only ones who pay for your service, but all those attending the state fair, or sporting events or going shopping help you foot the bill.
It is a small price to pay for improved medical care of a loved one in a crisis. Please don’t wait until then to recognize the change needed in your community.
