Elvira Drunert, of Sedalia, formerly of La Monte, will observe her 90th birthday on Friday.
She was born July 2, 1920, in Alma, a daughter of Arthur and Elda Franz Fuchs. On Feb. 20, 1943, in Alma, she married Myron Drunert, who died in 1998.
Mr. and Mrs. Drunert moved from Waverly to La Monte in 1956. They became proprietors of Drunert Standard Service Station. They remained proprietors until fall 1970. She then was a clerk at the La Monte Post Office, until she retired.
She is known for her quilts she made for her children and grandchildren and for the flowers she tended.
She enjoys her club, playing cards with friends and attending family gatherings. She also likes spending time with her church family at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Sedalia.
She has two children, Larry Drunert, of Warsaw, and Janice Knott, of Marshall; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
