A variety of activities will be held in Sedalia in honor of Black History Month in February.
•Sedalia’s African American Legacy will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Liberty Center through the month of February.
•A tribute to Sedalia’s African American military will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Yeater Building at State Fair Community College through the month of February. View photos and stories of men and women who have served our country and view a display on loan from Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site on the Tuskegee Airmen.
•Three one-act plays, featuring the best of Sedalia’s African American actors, will begin at 8 p.m. Feb. 2 at Liberty Center. Tickets cost $5.
•A soul food dinner, sponsored by Sadie Turner, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Quinn Chapel Church, 512 W. Johnson St. Tickets cost $10 per person.
•The Negro Spiritual Chorale Ensemble will perform at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 at Ward Memorial Baptist Church, 412 N. Osage Ave.
•A Black history program will begin at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 207 E. Pettis St.
