A Sedalia man was seriously injured in a vehicle accident at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday in Pettis County.
Cecil A. Neely, 55, of California, Mo., was driving south on U.S. Highway 65 when he was hit from behind by Greg L. Melton, 55. The impact caused Melton to be partially thrown from his vehicle, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Melton was Lifeflighted to University Hospital in Columbia while Neely told law enforcement officials he would seek his own medical treatment. The report indicated Neely was wearing a seat belt but Melton was not.
