Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site is hosting an event at 7 p.m. April 26 that will honor Missouri’s native trees for Arbor Day.

The event will begin with a short presentation followed by the distribution of a limited supply of tree seedlings and is sponsored by Missouri State Parks.

Park visitors are invited to stay for a showing of the 2012 feature film “The Lorax,” a Dr. Seuss story which features the Lorax and his mission to save the trees of his world. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own snacks and seating, and are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather.

Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site is located seven miles north of Sedalia on U.S. Highway 65.
