Blackwater group retells old news

Posted: Thursday, November 1, 2007 12:00 am | Updated: 8:45 am, Wed Sep 5, 2012.

The Blackwater Community West End Theatre has come up with a different style of entertainment for Saturday and Nov. 10. Scouring the old Blackwater News, years 1900 to 1913, members came up with true happenings in and around Blackwater. T.M. Horne was the editor and he “told it like it was.” He took issue with the expense the village incurred by authorizing the local blacksmith (also chairman of the board) to build the double-bunk jail cell without soliciting bids.

Performances will be at 2:30 and 8 p.m. Tickets cost $6 and $3 and are available at the door. Free refreshments will be served. All proceeds will go to Blackwater projects. For more information, call (660) 846-4411 (city hall) or (660) 846-4511 (evenings).
