Bolesen named high-point champion
Valerie Boelsen, a resident of Pettis County, and her American Saddlebred western pleasure horse, CH Willie Angel, were awarded the high-point champion honors in American Saddlebred country pleasure, American Saddlebred country western pleasure, amateur owner, trainer and rider by the Missouri Horse Shows Association. CH Willie Angel was also recognized by the American Saddlebred Horse Association as the 2012 state country western pleasure champion for Zone V. Brushcreek’s Eastwood, owned and exhibited by Boelsen, was awarded champion high point honors in the American Saddlebred park pleasure amateur division. This pair was undefeated in 2012 in the park pleasure amateur classes. In addition, they were crowned the grand champion and champion in the Missouri/Kansas three-gaited show pleasure division at the American Royal in Kansas City. Boelsen also was named the 2012 Missouri Horse Shows Association American Saddlebred amateur senior high point adult exhibitor. Her award, the Rita Diekroeger Perpetual Trophy, is on display at the Historical Society Museum in Columbia.
