The Pettis County Commission on Tuesday approved the purchase of a ditching machine for use by the county’s Road and Bridge Department.
The single bid, submitted by Ford MFG Inc. of Chehalis, Wash., was for a Model 700 Ditch Master to be used as part of the county’s five-year road plan to help improve drainage along county roads. The bid for the vehicle and specifications came in at $274,018.
The commission also approved a report on inspections of polling places conducted by the Pettis County Clerk’s office. The inspections found no issues with polling places after the April election. The inspections included the temporary change of polling places for Prairie Township which was moved from Cornerstone Baptist Church to the Sedalia Country Club to accommodate construction on the church’s parking lot.
The move was temporary and voters will resume casting ballots at the church for the August primary and November general elections.
