A Warrensburg man was injured in a vehicle accident at noon Tuesday in Johnson County.

Jacob L. Williams, 27, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 at state Route 58 when he fell asleep behind the wheel, drove off the left side of the road through the median and hit a concrete culvert and an electric pole, causing his vehicle to overturn and catch on fire, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Williams, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Lee’s Summit Medical Center for his injuries.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
