The Democrat Salutes Smith-Cotton JROTC
On May 19, Maj. Mark Haslett, of the Salvation Army, presented the Smith-Cotton JROTC with a plaque naming it as the Organization of the Year for 2011. The Smith-Cotton JROTC has worked for years with the Salvation Army ringing bells during the holidays to raise money for the organization. As in past years, JROTC cadets worked tirelessly, raising several thousand dollars for people in need.
