A group of volunteers from the third Clean Sweep Neighborhood Clean-Up event, sponsored by Citizens for a Clean Sedalia, stand in front of the Salvation Army truck after cleaning up neighborhoods in the north central portion of town Saturday. Volunteer groups included area residents, members of the Pettis County Democratic Club and airmen from Whiteman Air Force Base, as well as Mayor Elaine Horn and Sedalia City councilmembers Bob Cross, Steve Galliher and Tollie Rowe. In addition, McDonald’s Restaurant, the Salvation Army, Waterloo Industries, Starbucks, PROP and the Sedalia Parks Department donated services or items in kind. Because of the volume of debris collected, any additional debris will be picked up today.
