A Sedalia man escaped uninjured after his vehicle was hit by a train Saturday.
According to a Sedalia Police Department report, around 1:27 a.m. Clinton R. Devine, age unknown, was driving north on Grand Avenue, just past West Main Street when he approached the railroad tracks. He attempted to cross the tracks at an angle, to prevent his vehicle from getting high-centered, but got stuck anyway.
Devine got out of his vehicle and called for help. While he was waiting for assistance a Union Pacific train crashed into his vehicle. Reports indicate Devine did not have his lights on and the train engineer reported not being able to see the vehicle on the tracks.
No one was injured in the accident.
