Smithton Girl Scout Troop Cadettes visit Veterans Hospital
Smithton Girl Scout Troop 30752 Cadettes visited the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia on Feb. 9 in honor of National Salute to Veterans Week. The girls handed out Scout-made valentines and visited with the patients and residents. The girls enjoyed hearing the stories and looking at old photos the veterans had to share with them. The girls thanked them for their service and for their contribution to our freedom. The girls are pictured with John Paul Peak, a former Marine who received the Purple Heart for wounds he acquired by a saber in Japan. Pictured from left are Shelbi Miller, Jewlie Parks, Alexus Rissler, Jada Crum and Cheyenne Johnson.
