The Pettis County Health Center will be providing free Hepatitis C antibody testing during May. It is recommended people born from 1945 to 1965 be tested.
Hepatitis C is a disease of the liver that is caused by the Hepatitis C virus. The disease can cause chronic disease of the liver, develop into cirrhosis, cancer or even death. It is the number one reason for a liver transplant. Often, there are no symptoms.
