Smith-Cotton High School students Tristin Baro and Riley Garner advanced to the state speech and debate tournament with their performances Saturday in the district competition held at State Fair Community College.
Baro took first place in Storytelling and second place in Dramatic Interpretation, qualifying for the state tournament in both events. Garner qualified for the state tournament with his first-place finish in Prose.
