Students may apply for Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy

Marvin Harper, state commander the American Legion, recently announced that applications to the 39th annual Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy are being accepted. The program, conducted at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, will be June 1 to 6.

High school students age 16 to 18 who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement are encouraged to apply for this academy. Students will participate in a variety activities and instruction including defensive driving, shooting demonstrations, drug abuse and use of alcohol interdiction, police skills, personal defense and weapons firing. Physical training, organized sports and other activities are also included during this week of training.
