The second annual Veterans Day Parade, sponsored by the 40 & 8 with the JROTC, will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 11.
The Sedalia School District will dismiss early so students will have time to gather on the parade route which will be announced at a later date.
This parade honors those who have served in the military, active duty personnel, police departments, sheriff departments and fire departments.
More than 70 units participated last year. This year’s theme is “Stars and Stripes Forever” in
honor of the flags that will be flying on Ohio Avenue soon. All entries must have this theme.
Schools, churches, social clubs, service organizations, veterans groups , motorcycle groups and active duty military, fire and police are invited to sign up for the parade.
Floats will be judged and the winner will receive $100. The JROTC and 40 & 8 will not be eligible.
Spec. Joe Yantz is tentatively scheduled to be the grand marshal of the parade.
