Dr. Clark Fobian, a veterinarian with more than 30 years of service to the Sedalia area, has been named president-elect of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Fobian, who owns Thompson Hills Animal Clinic, 1201 Thompson Blvd., along with his wife, Rita, was elected unanimously by the AVMA House of Delegates on Aug. 3 in San Diego and will begin his term as president next summer. During his tenure as president, he will be the figurehead of the organization, help make decisions and form veterinary policy and promote the AVMA, a nonprofit organization that represents more than 80 percent of the veterinary profession, and its goals both in the United States and abroad.
