Tonya Burt loves her job at Tyson Foods in Sedalia — and it’s not just the kind of “love” that makes it fun to come into work. This is the kind of love that makes others stop and take notice. The kind that wins awards.
Burt, a Sedalia resident, wife and mom of two, is the winner of a 2012 Service Technician of the Year award given by the Poultry Foundation, a trade association representing Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Burt received the award for outstanding service as a broiler service technician — a relationship manager who goes to poultry growers’ farms to implement programs, communicate ideas about producing a great chicken and help farmers succeed.
