Art Impressions Gallery & Framing is currently displaying work by Best of Missouri Hands artists Donald and Blenda Marquardt.

The Marquardts have created hand-crafted pewter art since 1999. Each of their pieces is crafted individually by spinning, casting, hand hammering and making free-form designs. The pewter used in their products is lead-free and completely food safe.

After earning a Ph.D., Donald became a high school shop teacher. As a teacher, he stressed pride in craftsmanship and appreciation for the form and function of practical objects.

Blenda also shares in the appreciation of the cool, supple feel and soft glow of pewter. Together, they continually explore the processes used to create their pewter designs.

Art Impressions Gallery & Framing is located at 412 S. Ohio Ave. and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
