The University of Central Missouri Performing Arts Series will bring The Capitol Steps back to Hendricks Hall at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 for a satirical view of American politics.

The Capitol Steps began in 1981 when a group of Capitol Hill staffers were planning a Christmas party. Since then, their irreverent blend of humor and music has made them a national favorite. They have traveled to all 50 states, performed for five U.S. presidents and recorded more than 30 albums, including the most recent, “Desperate Housemembers.”

As the election season draws to a close, The Capitol Steps are traveling the nation, taking a look at the candidates, the incumbents and the political issues of the day. Where else can you find the candidates for U.S. president singing and dancing on stage?

In addition to the stage performance, The Capitol Steps will meet with a select group of UCM and high school students for a TalkBack session following the show. Contact the PAS office at 660-543-4263 to schedule your group.

Tickets for The Capitol Steps are available through the PAS box office in Administration 100, by calling 660-543-8888, or online at ucmpas.com. UCM students will admitted free with a valid UCM student ID.
