The University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series will present John Tartaglia’s “ImaginOcean” at 1 p.m. March 12 for schools and 7 p.m. March 13 for a general audience at Hendricks Hall on the Warrensburg campus.
Tartaglia’s blacklight puppet show is an undersea adventure for all ages. Tank, Bubbles and Dorsel are three best friends who happen to be fish, and they’re about to set out on a journey of discovery. Ultimately, they discover that the greatest treasure of all is friendship. “ImaginOcean” features music that ranges from rhythm and blues to big band.
Tartaglia earned his stage credentials as a Tony Award nominee for his performance in the musical “Avenue Q.” He also appeared on Broadway in “Shrek the Musical” and in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast, and he is known for his Disney Channel show “Johnny and the Sprites.”
“ImaginOcean” opened in New York in March 2010 and began its U.S. tour in September 2011.
