Studio A Dance Conservatory aims to start new Sedalia tradition with 'The Tale of the Nutcracker'

Posted: Friday, December 14, 2012 4:36 pm

For the first 26 years of Anna Crumley’s life, the Sedalia ballet scene resisted staging the most well-known ballet in the world. But no longer — thanks to Crumley’s three-year-old Studio A Dance Conservatory, “The Nutcracker” is finally coming to Sedalia.

“This is the first time that any local company has tried to put the show on here, at least since I’ve been alive,” Crumley said before a rehearsal on Thursday at the studio. The shows will be staged on Saturday and Sunday at the Heckart Performing Arts Center.
