Books on the move

David Fox, with Jackson's Relocation Services, Sedalia, is part of crew of three, moving furniture, office equipment and books out of the Sedalia Public Library Thursday morning to the McLaughlin Building at 515 S. Ohio Ave. The moving company donated the services of its workers for a second day to get the library moved to the temporary site said Librarian Pam Hunter. "We have had an outpouring of volunteerism," Hunter said. The staff at Lamm Technical Resources, Sedalia, is donating its time to building the electrical infrastructure needed to get the library's resources, the Internet and other automation wired up into a network, she said.

Fair Mural

Houstonia artist and elementary school art instructor, Linda Hoover, rolls a second coat of paint Tuesday over the part of her mural that depicts graffiti after fair officials informed her that they wanted it covered up due to complaints. The criticism centers on the notion that the graffiti sends the wrong message to young kids, she said.
