Studio A dance student Christina Stratton gets scholarship
Christina Stratton, a student at Studio A Dance Conservatory in Sedalia, attended the Pulse dance convention earlier this month in St. Louis and received a scholarship to perform with professional choreographers Chris Judd, Brian Freidman and Tyce Diorio.
Christina, 12, performed on stage with Judd as he debuted his choreography to “Run Way Baby.” She received a scholarship to continue training and dancing with Judd’s team. Christina takes classes from Anna Crumley at Studio A.
Only five of the more than 1,000 students received scholarships. The students were taught combinations by Judd, who had choreographed for Michael Jackson and Jennifer Lopez ; Friedman, who had worked on music videos for Britney Spears, Prince, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Usher and Pink; and Diorio, who has been on four seasons of “So You Think You Can Dance.”
