Richmond hosting BBQ and Bluegrass Festival

A BBQ and Bluegrass Festival to benefit Missouri Valley Community Action Agency will be from 11 a.m. to  11 p.m. Saturday at the Ray County Fairgrounds in Richmond.


The festival will include 18 bands from Missouri and Kansas. Main stage acts include the Bluegrass Missourians, Checkered Past, Fishing River Expedition and Great White Possum String Co.


Richmond is about 80 miles northwest of Sedalia. Missouri Valley Community Action serves seven counties, including Pettis.


Admission costs $10 per person, or $25 per family up to four children younger than 15.


Community Action is a charity with the mission to end poverty. The agency helps working families gain the skills, knowledge and motivation necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
