Sedalia Chorale to present ‘Tried, True and New' on Sunday
The Sedalia Chorale’s Winter Concert, “Tried, True and New: Songs of Hope, Remembrance and Romance,” will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Presbyterian Church, 209 W. Broadway Blvd. in Sedalia.
Admission is $9 in advance and $10 at the door. Students and teachers with ID get in free.
Sandy Cordes will direct and Susan Prisendorf will accompany.
The program includes: “A Festive Call to Praise” by Joseph Martin; “In This Very Room” by Ron and Carol Harris; “Soon-Ah Will Be Done” by William L. Dawson; “O My Luve’s Like a Red, Red Rose” by Rene Clausen; “The Rhodora” by Mary Lynn Lightfoot; “Shenandoah,” an American folk song arranged by Rollo Dilworth; “O America!” by Brendan Graham and William Joseph, arranged by Roger Emerson (Ashton Thompson will perform a solo); “Lydia, The Tattooed Lady” by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg (Kevin Holbert will perform a solo); “I’ll Be Seeing You” by Irving Kahal and Sammy Fain, arranged by Phil Mattson (performed by a quartet of Melissa Johnson, Sandy Larson, Holbert and Shane Dixon); “Omnia Sol (Let Your Heart Be Staid)” by Z. Randall Stroope; and “Joy in the Morning” by Natalie Smith.
