2 area grads in Missouri State production of ‘Love's Labour's Lost'

Two area graduates have roles in the Missouri State University production of “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” which will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 through 3 and at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Craig Hall’s Coger Theatre on the Springfield campus.

Sarah Jean Hohne, of Sedalia, plays Princess of France. Hohne, a junior BFA acting major, is a 2009 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and the daughter of Jay and Karen Hohne. She was involved in the Missouri State productions of “The Philadelphia,” “Women in Heat,” “The Laramie Project” and “Evangeline Drowning.”

Kristin Mothersbaugh, of Ionia, plays Moth. Mothersbaugh, a senior BFA acting major, is a graduate of Clinton High School and the University of Central Missouri, and is the daughter of Ginny Mothersbaugh. She was involved in the State Fair Community College productions of “Macbeth,” “Duck Hunter Shoots Angel” and “Run For Your Wife.”

The comedy tells the story of the King of Navarre and his three noble companions, who take an oath to devote themselves to three years of ascetic study, abstaining from the company of women. When the Princess of France arrives with her three ladies in waiting, the men soon admit they are smitten and decide to court the women, but find they are not so easily wooed. Filled with comic sub-plots, misdirected love letters, mistaken identities, witty repartee, humorous asides, clever puns, literary allusions, poetry and a play within the play, “Love’s Labour’s Lost” ends with an uncommon twist.

Tickets are $8, $12 or $14 and can be purchased by calling the Missouri State box office at 417-836-7678 or toll-free at 1-888-476-7849. Tickets can also be purchased online at missouristatetix.com.
