Emmy Award-winning storyteller, author and educator Bobby Norfolk will stage “Scott Joplin, the Ragtime King” — featuring theater, dance, storytelling and audience participation — at 12:30 p.m. June 3 at the Katy Depot, 600 E. Third St., as part of the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival.
Admission is $10.
Norfolk brings the legend of Scott Joplin to life by performing many of his ragtime classics and demonstrating the cakewalk, one of the most popular dances of the day. The program highlights Joplin’s life from birth through the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.
