Camp Blue Sky is launching an adventure in Theatre. Not only will participants act in multiple roles, they will design sets, costumes, learn marketing and produce a play, “Aesop’s Fables Redux.” The play will fit the camp theme, “Greece is the Word.”
To accomplish this, to rehearse and memorize lines, campers will practice from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday afternoons July 11 to July 28 in State Fair Community College theatre.
During camp, Aug. 1 through Aug. 5, the Blue Sky Players will offer several performances for the whole camp. A special performance will be presented for family and friends at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in SFCC’s Thompson O’Sullivan studio theatre.
The experience will be facilitated by SFCC Theatre Program Coordinator Eric Yazell and SFCC Theatre Instructor Kristen Henning.
Campers entering seventh and ninth grades are eligible, but class size is limited to 15. The fee of $190 includes a week of camp plus three weeks of rehearsal (or two payments of $95 by Aug. 1).
