My son, Kinser, and I belong to Boy Scout Troop 61, which is sponsored by Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church in Sedalia. At Troop 61, we strive to take our Scouts camping at least once a month.
Camping in the spring, summer and fall seasons is always fun and usually very easy to prepare for. It is the camping in the winter months that presents the biggest challenge as far as planning and preparation to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience. I mean, we are talking sleeping in tents and preparing the meals over a campfire or gas-powered stove regardless of the weather.
