The Democrat Salutes Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation

Iglesia Luterana Amigos de Cristo, of Sedalia, recently received a $5,000 Lutheran Community Economic Outreach Bridge Grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation. The funding was awarded based on Amigos' effectiveness in addressing basic needs of the local community such as food, clothing or shelter. Amigos de Cristo has also elected to participate in a complementary two-to-one challenge grant program sponsored by the Foundation. For every dollar raised by Amigos de Cristo, from donors by March 31, the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation will provide an additional 50 centsÑup to $5,000Ñin support of the organizationÕs food/clothing/shelter ministry. Nicole Gadt, AmeriCorps VISTA grant writer/fundraiser for Amigos, accepts the $5,000 check from Steve Nichols, local financial associate for Thrivent Financial.
